Real life?

I can’t even lie to you - I really don’t know what the future holds for us as humans, marginalized folks in the USA or just this planet. Music is one of the few things I still believe in, LOL. So if you’ve made it this far reading, you’re super appreciated.

We put alot of love into this new project. Tons of patience and care. A rap pal told me this is one of my most cohesive albums, and the critiques of my earlier work had much to do with my being ‘too experimental,’ or just too queer. LMAO.

Fuck all that. I’m a great artist and I’m still growing. So many artists are ‘experimenting’ with shit I did years ago and was laughed at for. From EDM, being in a polyamorous relationship, big natural hair, rapping on club beats, etc. Being ‘ahead of your time’ isn’t necessarily fun, but it is validating to see the youngins get celebrated for things that were taboo when I was coming up. There is no growth without coloring outside the lines.

So many people tell me my voice is needed, necessary, etc… but rest and stability is required. Growth is required. Resources are required. Independent art is important but we need real support. Thank you for your support.
