The end of year means lots of year end lists, and honestly I’m tired. For several months now, I’ve been really going inward, focusing on family, art and the very uncertain future. I did have some really amazing moments in 2024 and I wanna share a few with you. None of these picks are in any particular order but they are dear to me. Katt Williams, what did you do?

Favorite Press of the Year: Foodsic rates “Is This A Safe Space?” a perfect album 🔥

You know, I don’t love lists, but when I’m on them, I like them a little LMAO. On instagram, a tough critic and music review page rated my latest album with Optiks a perfect score. 100% flame emojis. I don’t know…but I tend to agree. We really did that.

Favorite Show of the Year: NYC - The Delancey 11/07/24

The Delancey is a well known DIY venue in the heart of Manhattan, and I was excited to play in New York again. Especially with Optiks, because he lives on the East Coast and I live in the Midwest, I only get to rock with occasionally. It was an beautiful show, with lots of laughs, east coast friends and fam in attendance. I finally met Dylan Green! Performing tracks off my latest album, with Optiks backing me up as DJ, was really special. We did a 3-show run right before the album dropped, and NYC was absolutely one of my faves of the year. It also felt good to yell right after the election. Loud.

Favorite Bites of Food - Everywhere

Bitch if I don’t do nothin’ else, I’m gonna eat. Because heaven can be found in the right bite, and cuisine can be art.

On tour in April, I fell asleep while our driver got us from Tuscon, Arizona to Colorado Springs and I woke up at this lovely carniceria way off the beaten path. We were in Mammoth, Arizona but there was nothing out there for miles. Except this place. It would have been blasphemy not to stop. I got a chicken and a steak taco, but honestly I wanted to buy the entire market. The meat looked so fresh, and the gentleman making the food was really into his craft. This was a mouthwatering experience. The chicken edged the steak, though. I was surprised!

My mom and I tried this newly opened pizza pop up in the south suburbs. They’ve since moved to Hyde Park. It’s a good, sloppy deep dish sausage and cheese situation. Lynn’s Chicago Pizza is worth a try. Honorable mention: 6 piece wing with mild sauce hit, too.

I snuck up to Minneapolis to work on another project and was fortunate enough to spend time with some dear friends. I love to cooked for my fam, and I whipped up these chicken thighs in rosemary and decadent fancy butter. I really can cook, dog :)
